May promote mineralization of the extracellµLar matrix during osteogenic differentiation by scavenging extracellµLar LPL. Probably required in adipocytes for the formation of specialized storage vesicles containing the glucose transporter SLC2A4/GLUT4 (GLUT4 storage vesicles, or GSVs).
