Reactivity: (Homo sapiens) UniProt:Q16881 Abbreviation:TXNRD1 Alternative Names:GRIM-12; MGC9145; TR; TR1; TRXR1; TXNR; KM-102-derived reductase-like factor|oxidoreductase|thioredoxin reductase GRIM-12 Application:ELISA Range:0.156-10 ng/mL Sensitivity:0.057 ng/mL Intra-AssayCV:?4.6% Inter-AssayCV:?8.3% Recovery:0.98 Sample Type:Serum, Plasma, Other biological fluids Detection Method:Sandwich Analysis Method??:Quantitive Test principle:This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate TXNRD1 in samples. An antibody specific for TXNRD1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyTXNRD1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjµgated antibody specific for TXNRD1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjµgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TXNRD1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. Product Overview:Thioredoxin reductase 1, cytoplasmic is a member of the family of pyridine nucleotide oxidoreductases. This protein reduces thioredoxins as well as other substrates, and plays a role in selenium metabolism and protection against oxidative stress. The functional enzyme is thoµght to be a homodimer which uses FAD as a cofactor. Each subunit contains a selenocysteine (Sec) residue which is required for catalytic activity. The selenocysteine is encoded by the µgA codon that normally signals translation termination. The 3' UTR of selenocysteine-containing genes have a common stem-loop structure, the sec insertion sequence (SECIS), that is necessary for the recognition of µgA as a Sec codon rather than as a stop signal. Alternative splicing resµLts in several transcript variants encoding the same or different isoforms. Stability:The stability of ELISA kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test. Keep the kit at 37°C for 4 and 7 days, and compare O.D.values of the kit kept at 37°C with that of at recommended temperature. (referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calcµLated by the Arrhenius equation. For ELISA kit, 4 days storage at 37°C can be considered as 6 months at 2 - 8°C, which means 7 days at 37°C equaling 12 months at 2 - 8°C).
