Reactivity: (Homo sapiens) UniProt:Q9N2I2 Abbreviation:SERPINA5 Alternative Names:PAI3; PCI; PLANH3; PROCI; plasminogen activator inhibitor III|plasminogen activator inhibitor-3|serine (or cysteine) proteinase inhibitor; clade A (alpha-1 antiproteinase; antitrypsin); member 5 Application:ELISA Range:31.25-2000 pg/mL Sensitivity:13.7 pg/mL Intra-AssayCV:?6.1% Inter-AssayCV:?10.2% Recovery:0.97 Sample Type:Serum, Plasma, Other biological fluids Detection Method:Sandwich Analysis Method??:Quantitive Test principle:This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate SERPINA5 in samples. An antibody specific for SERPINA5 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anySERPINA5 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjµgated antibody specific for SERPINA5 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjµgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SERPINA5 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. Product Overview:Protein C inhibitor (PCI, SERPINA5) is a serine protease inhibitor (serpin) which limits the expression of protein C.Suzuki et al. (1987) determined the sequence of cDNA for protein C inhibitor (PCI). A high degree of homology of the deduced amino acid sequence to that of other known inhibitors clearly demonstrated that protein C inhibitor is a member of the superfamily of serine protease inhibitors including alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (AACT), alpha-1-antitrypsin (AAT; PI), antithrombin III (AT3), and angiotensinogen (AGT). Protein C inhibitor is sometimes referred to as plasminogen activator inhibitor-3 (PAI3) because it also inhibits plasminogen activators (Meijers and Chung, 1991). Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI1) has structural similarities to PCI. Stability:The stability of ELISA kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test. Keep the kit at 37°C for 4 and 7 days, and compare O.D.values of the kit kept at 37°C with that of at recommended temperature. (referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calcµLated by the Arrhenius equation. For ELISA kit, 4 days storage at 37°C can be considered as 6 months at 2 - 8°C, which means 7 days at 37°C equaling 12 months at 2 - 8°C).
