NADAL H. pylori Antibody
General information about this test
:
The NADAL Ebola Test is a rapid immunoassay for qualitative detection of
Ebola
virus antigens in serum or throat swab samples. NADAL Ebola Test is intended to help diagnosis of
Ebola
infection febrile conditions. The test is recommended to be used in conjunction with clinical information/ methods and other diagnostic
in-vitro
procedures.
Reagents and material supplied
:
20 NADAL Ebola test cassettes
20 transfer pipettes
20 extraction tubes
Provided additional material according to 93/42/EEC: 20 sterile polyester-tipped swabs CE 0086
1 extraction buffer Ebola (10 mL)
1 tube rack
1 package insert
Test time
: 10 min
Performance characteristics
:
Sensitivity and specificity of the NADAL Ebola Test were determined by comparison of the results for samples taken from African patients (from Conakry, Guinea) obtained from PCR system RealStar Ebola virus RT-PCR Kit 1.0 and the NADAL Ebola Test.
Analytic sensitivity: ≤CT 23
Specificity: 98 %
Test principle
:
The NADAL Ebola Test is a qualitative lateral flow immunoassay for the detection of VP40 antigens of the Ebola virus in serum or throat swab samples. First, the VP40 antigens, if present in the sample (in the case of positive result), react with anti-
Ebola
antibodies bound to particles which are pre-dried on the internal test strip, further the sample moves along the membrane by capillary action and capture anti-
Ebola
antibodies present on test line react with the mixture conjugate and generate a colored line in the test (T) region of the cassette.A colored line should always appear in the control line region (C), it serves as a procedural control, indicating that the proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.
Clinical significance
:
Ebola virus disease (EVD) or Ebola haemorrhagic fever (EHF)is a severe, often fatal disease in humans and non-human primates (monkeys, gorillas and chimpanzees). EHF outbreaks occur periodically. The genus
Ebolavirus
belongs to
Filoviridae
RNA family. So far, there are five identified species in the genus
Ebolavirus
:
Zaire ebolavirus
(EBOV),
Sudan ebolavirus
(SUDV),
Reston ebolavirus
(RESTV),
Bundibugyo ebolavirus
(BDBV) and
Tai Forest ebolavirus
(TAFV). Of them, RESTV infects primates, while the rest four viruses infect humans. Up to 90% of the outbreaks are caused by
Zaire ebolavirus
.
